4-30: Be Thankful (Build a Nutrition+Hydration Habit)
Well, good morning. Welcome to April 30th. My friends, this is Kathly, and I'm so proud of you for making it through to the end of another month. This month, we've talked all about fuel. How can we make simple and healthy choices to fuel our bodies so that we can do the things that God is calling us to do with excellence and with joy?
Kat Lee:And we've covered a number of tips all throughout the month. And my tip for you today is a really simple one. Maybe it's something you already do. It's to thank God for the fuel that he's given us. In our fast paced culture, it can be easy to forget to say grace before a meal.
Kat Lee:But I think it's an important practice to have because one, it causes us to pause, to be thankful that we have the food that we need. If you've traveled to places or to cultures where food is more of a scarcity, where people don't have the money to buy the food that they need, it could open our eyes and make us so much more thankful for the options that we have. And I think it's an important practice to pause and to say thank you, God, that I have food to eat. And maybe even to say prayer for those who are struggling. It helps us to be intentional when we're eating, To be conscious that this isn't just for entertainment.
Kat Lee:This is for the energy to do the things that God has called me to do so that I can help those around me and those in need. Now, you may have never thought about saying grace for a snack, and you don't need to stop everything and bow your head and fold your hands. But I think even when it comes to our random snacking, we can say, god, thanks. Thank you that I have this package of nuts sitting in my car while I'm in the school pickup line, and I'm really hungry. Thank you that you gave me the forethought to put that in my little glove box.
Kat Lee:Whatever it might be, if we are thankful for the food that we have, we're going to probably make better choices about the foods that we eat. So just an idea, but pause and thank God for the fuel that he gives us. Alright, friends. I'm really proud of you for making it through this month. I hope you've been able to implement some ideas.
Kat Lee:I hope you found yourself to have a little bit more energy throughout the day. And I look forward to hearing more about the changes that you're making and the energy that you're building so that you can live out the calling that God has on your life. And if you've not had your 3 minute morning, you are not too late. You're right on time, and it is coming up next.
